How it works
Sentences are assembled from a bank of the classic lorem ipsum vocabulary, 8–16 words each, with the first word capitalised and a full stop at the end. Paragraphs group 4–7 sentences. When “start with the classic phrase” is on, the very first sentence is the familiar “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.”
“Copy text” gives plain text (headings as lines, lists with dashes) for pasting into any editor. “Copy HTML” wraps the same content in<p>, <h3> and<ul> tags so you can drop it straight into a template.

What is lorem ipsum used for?
It’s placeholder text that stands in for real copy while a layout is being designed. Its letter distribution looks like ordinary prose, so it shows how a design will feel with real text in it.
Why do I want headings or lists?
Real pages aren’t just walls of paragraphs. Adding a heading or a short list lets you see how your design handles mixed content before the real copy arrives.
Can I get exactly N words?
Yes — switch the unit to Words and set the count. You’ll get that many words in a row, no punctuation, ready to paste anywhere.
Is the text the same every time?
No — each generate click shuffles the word order, so two runs with the same settings produce different filler.
